THURLESTON CONCERT WAS A GREAT SUCCESS

WOW!  What an evening!

If you didn't get to the concert then you missed a very good evening.   Thurlestone did us proud with a responsive, participating audience and they went home singing!   The Choir, under the excellent leadership of Christopher Fletcher, sang a number of Christmas songs and carols with the audience joining in on the community singing.   And all this with mince pies and mulled wine!
The programme comprised:
  • Past Three a Clock
  • In The Bleak Mid Winter with the solos sung by Moira Greening and Peter Bolt
  • O Holy Night - the solo by the principal Tenor, Charles Westlake
  • Mary Had a Baby
  • Lullay [Karl Jenkins]
  • Go Tell it to the Mountain [KJ]
  • Nativity Carol [John Rutter]
  • Sans day Carol [JR]
  • A Merry Christmas
There were solo performances by Brian Nice, Hilary Jarret, Bruce Dunkley Tom Gilkes and John Montague.
Some splendid readings by Ann Sylge, Elizabeth Jones & May Crimp

We are most grateful to the choristers who prepared the refreshments, and those others who helped in the setting up and putting away chairs, etc..
